About me

hi! I’m Laura, a technical designer and technical artist!

I am a University of Huddersfield graduate with a first-class BA (Hons) degree

I have always had a passion for the technical side of game development. During high school, I would often spend many hours of my time working on personal projects. Creating my own levels for games I loved was my first step into the games industry. I made maps for Counter-Strike using the Hammer editor, which gave me a head start learning about how games and game engines work. This helped a lot with the development of my 3D skills

I'm really passionate about the games of the future, including technologies like path tracing, HDR and innovative ways to immerse myself in their world!

My favourite part of games development is being part of a team. People are always teaching me a lot of new skills and techniques! I believe that great communication and team working is key to success, which also promotes a healthy bonding experience - it’s always great when an inside joke turns into an in-game feature!

I'm a massive believer of design and programming being an art. That's why I use Blueprints over something like C++, where fast itteration and designing the best systems possible is the focus

I have experience working in many different team combinations, and I have worked on award-winning games such as “Lethal Deal”, receiving awards from Rockstar Leeds, Rebellion North during Game Republic and The Rookies

I've been working at 10:10 Games since September 2022, where I worked on Funko Fusion

I'd love to hear any questions you have about my work, so please get in touch :)
